After the Italian national women’s volleyball team, also the men’s Italvolley Ferdinando De Giorgi fly to Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The closing of the world ranking, which decreed the assignment of the last quotas for the French Olympic Games, took place on Monday 24 June, at the end of the first phase of the Volleyball Nations League 2024.

The Azzurri, strong in fourth position, enter the Olympic competition as the second national selection in the ranking not yet qualified for Paris 2024.

The other four teams earning a slot are: Slovenia, Argentina, Serbia And Egypt (the latter qualified as representative of the African continent).

Italy’s volleyball team played an excellent preliminary phase of the VNL 2024, in which it recorded 9 victories and 3 defeats which allowed it to access the Finals in Lodz, Poland, from 27 to 30 June.

Right in the Polish town, Wednesday 26 June at 6.00pmwill be held on draw for the composition of the Olympic groups which sees Italy included in the second tier.

Once the Olympic qualification has been archived, the goal is now to get on the podium of the VNL 2024 which is missing from the palmarès of the men’s national volleyball team.

Since National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in the Paris Games depends on their NOC’s selection of representatives in the delegation to Paris 2024.
