Sunday 7 July free entry to the Civic Museums – House of the Humiliated in Monza. It is the “Sunday at the Museum” initiative which also involves the city with free entry to the museum for the first Sunday of the month.

Treasures Revealed
“The elegant grace of Ugo Zovetti and the Viennese decorated papers”
On the occasion of Art Nouveau Week 2024, the European event that retraces the streets of Liberty, the Civic Museums dedicate the mini-exhibition to one of the protagonists of the movement, Ugo Zovetti, and to the years of his training in Vienna against the backdrop of the Secession.
The mini-exhibition can be visited on the days and at the times the museum is open.
Entrance included in the museum ticket.

“The Colors of the Dark” (Family Lab for families with children from 3 to 11 years old)
Painting at night is not easy at all: what can you see and what can’t you see? How do colors change after sunset? During the visit to the museum we will observe the strategies used by painters to “show in the dark” and we will observe, like true artists, the color palettes with which it is possible to create the night effect, thus discovering that it is easy to say dark! Finally, we will try our hand at a workshop to create a suggestive landscape at twilight.
Cost: €4 per person | free for disabled person and 1 companion.
Children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult.

Special exhibition “800 Lombardo”
“The masters of the nineteenth century” (guided visit to the exhibition)
Guided tour of the section of the exhibition “800 LOMBARDO. Rebellion and conformism, from Hayez to Previati” set up at the museum: a fascinating journey through the works on temporary display and the museum rooms, to discover the masterpieces of Hayez, Inganni, Mosè Bianchi, Pompeo Mariani, Eugenio Spreafico and the other protagonists of a happy artistic season.

“Night Mystery” (Family Lab for families with children aged 3 to 11)
The paintings in the museum tell us many stories, some fascinating and incredible, others everyday; sometimes they are also evidence of mysterious facts… By learning to grasp all the clues that the artist has left us, will you be able to reconstruct what happened? Spirit of observation, but also a lot of imagination, are the ingredients we will need to solve a mysterious but fun “cluedo at the Museum”. And, at the end, we will all go to the laboratory to create a mysterious work!
