Il Festival di Glastonbury is one of the most anticipated and famous musical events in the world. This year it started on June 26 and will end tomorrow, Sunday June 30. Stef Smith she is a volunteer at The Occasional Kitchen, a company that provides catering services in Glastonbury but she is also a tiktoker and in one of her latest videos she talked about the privileges of professionals.

Stef Smith’s story

Stef Smith in her TikTok video talks about the privileges that Glastonbury workers have: from flexible hours, to free food to access to several areas not reserved for the general public. In the post, the woman says: “Basically I help with serving food, helping out in the kitchen and things like that. The shifts are very flexible and therefore comfortable. When I work, I have one meal a day included in the hours, I have access to the campsite where the artists stay, I can go to all the local bars and I know all the shortcuts that get you from one place to another in a very short time. I also have access that is much better than those of normal campsites. The bathrooms are very clean. These are simple things but really precious in a context like this where you are away from home for several days”.

Stef’s “pay”

Stef, as already explained before, is a volunteer and therefore does not have a real salary, however, she benefits from various benefits from this point of view. The girl explained on TikTok: «In exchange for my work, I enjoy the Festival because I finish my shift at 9pm and then I’m free to go and listen to the music. I was really lucky to find this volunteer job because I had tried to get tickets some time ago and had never succeeded. It was the lady who owns this company who saw one of my TikToks in which I talked about the Festival and contacted me to ask if I wanted to work with them – obviously I said yes!».
