New chapter in development, Capcom’s announcement

In addition to showing gameplay of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster and announcing the return date of the unstoppable Frank West, Capcom took advantage of its new showcase dedicated to Resident Evil 7 to talk to us about the future of the survival horror series.

While not providing particularly detailed information, the Osaka-based company announced what all fans were hoping for: a new chapter in the Resident Evil series is in development. As stated by Koshi Nakanishi during the video interview that appeared during Capcom Next, it was not easy at the beginning to find a new path for the franchise. After a long reflection, the director of Resident Evil 7, however, says that he finally had the winning idea from which the work began.

Nakanishi to serve as director of new Resident Evilbut is unable to provide any further details at this time. Capcom simply invites us to stay tuned and eagerly await any news that will be announced in the future.

Most likely, the new game Nakanishi is referring to will be Resident Evil 9 Apocalypse, which has already been the subject of numerous rumors in recent months. According to rumors, the title will have Leon e Jill as protagonists and a third-person camera, but it will not be an open world. In addition to this, Capcom is rumored to be working on Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake.
