A motion to protect commuters on the railway line: it was presented by the leader of Insieme per Rufina in the City Council, Chiara Mazzei (pictured), in an attempt to put the inconveniences of users back at the top of the agenda. This is the first official act presented by the opposition in Rufina, in an attempt to put one of the most heartfelt and unresolved issues on the local institutional agenda. Commuter problems remain an almost daily problem, affecting thousands of people who use the tracks every day to reach their jobs. “It would be boring to once again list the inconveniences we suffer as commuters – says the center-right group leader, Chiara Mazzei – but now it involves thousands of episodes and an issue that does not seem to see a solution on the horizon. During the last mandate there was a lot of talk in the City Council about this situation, but the old council did not achieve anything concrete, not even a meeting that could in some way give signs of hope”. With our motion, Mazzei continues, “we are asking for a table that is preparatory to a study commission for the resolution of the problems on the Florence-Borgo San Lorenzo via Pontassieve line, which involves all the municipalities affected by this line, the Council and the regional government, the regional assessor and the top management of Rfi, with an invitation to promote the same motion in the councils of the other municipalities, so as to present themselves at the table with a strong political mandate.” According to Mazzei, “it would be an opportunity to immediately understand whether the new administration truly represents a change of direction or whether Rufina’s isolation will continue.”
