The European elections but also the local elections are scheduled for Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 June 2024. In Lazio, voting is held in 142 municipalities, including Tivoli and Civitavecchia. The first data on turnout is expected today at 11pm. You can vote from 3pm to 11pm on Saturday 8th and from 7am to 11pm on Sunday 9th June 2024.

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2024 European elections will be held but also local elections. In Lazio, 142 municipalities will vote out of 378 in total in Lazio (37.6 percent) and the most populous are those of Civitavecchia and Tivoli, both in the province of Rome, with over 50 thousand inhabitants. The first data on turnout is expected on Saturday 8 June at 11pm, i.e. when the polls close for the first round of elections. In fact, you can vote from 3pm to 11pm on Saturday 8 June and from 7am to 11pm on Sunday 9 June 2024.

Where to vote today in Lazio for the 2024 municipal elections

There are seven municipalities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants and for which a run-off round is therefore envisaged, if necessary: ​​in addition to Civitavecchia and Tivoli, there are Monterotondo, Palestrina, Cassino, Veroli and Tarquinia. However, there are 135 municipalities with a population of less than or equal to 15 thousand inhabitants. For the most populous countries, the run-off round, necessary if no candidate reaches 50 percent plus one of the votes in the first round, will be held on 22 and 23 June.

Of the 142 countries in which there will also be voting for local elections, 45 are located in the province of Rieti. Then follow the provinces of Frosinone, where voting is held in 36 municipalities, and that of Rome, with 30 cities at the polls. However, 25 municipalities are voting in the province of Viterbo and only 6 in the province of Latina.

Among the other municipalities that will go to the vote, here are the best known ones: Artena, Civitavecchia, Monte Porzio Catone, Monterotondo, Palestrina and Tivoli in the province of Rome. Bagnoregio, Bolsena, Calcata and Tarquinia in the province of Viterbo. Leonessa, Greccio and Poggio Mirteto in the province of Rieti and Sermoneta in the province of Latina.

The first data on turnout, as mentioned, is expected at 11pm on Saturday 8 June.

Tivoli and Civitavecchia are the most important municipalities

In Tivoli the challenge is between Maria Rosaria Cecchetti, current councilor for the budget, supported by Action and Italia Viva, Francesca Chimenti, Movimento 5 Stelle and Verdi e Sinistra, Giovanna Marconi, Pd, Marco Innocenzi, centre-right. Finally, there is Massimiliano Rossini, supported by two civic lists.

In Civitavecchia the candidates for mayor are Massimiliano Grasso, centre-right, Marco Piendibene, Democratic Party and Greens and Left, Enzo D’Antò, Five Star Movement, Paolo Poletti, Forza Italia and United for Civitavecchia, Roberta Galletta and Vittorio Petrelli.
