HEART OF JESUS, VICTIM OF SINNERS, HAVE MERCY ON US!
The month of June, as is known, is traditionally dedicated to devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Our Lord. This practice is as old as the Church which, as we well know, was “born from the pierced Heart of the Redeemer”, as Pius XII explained in the You will draw the watersn. 39.
Throughout the month of June Catholic Information offers you a daily reflection on the Sacred Heart written by Don Giuseppe Tomaselli.
Don Giuseppe Tomaselli, born in Biancavilla (Catania) on 26 January 1902 and died in Messina on the night between 8 and 9 May 1989, entered the Salesian Congregation in 1916, was ordained a priest in 1926 and, throughout his ministry , which lasted almost 63 years, was a parish priest, teacher, chaplain to religious communities, exorcist, miracle worker and apostle of the good Catholic press. Precisely in this latter capacity he distributed as many as 10 million copies of his 120 books, texts which are still in great demand and read.

Our father.
Invocation. – Heart of Jesus, Victim of sinners, have mercy on us!
Intention. – Repair the sacrilegious Communions that have been held and will be held.
JESUS’ LOUDEST LAMENT
The month of June is coming to an end; since the devotion to the Sacred Heart must not end, let us consider today a lament and a desire of Jesus, to take holy resolutions, which must accompany us throughout our lives.
Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is in the Tabernacles and the Eucharistic Heart is not always and not by everyone treated as it should be.
We remember the strongest lament that Jesus addressed to Saint Margaret in the great apparition, when he showed her the Heart: Here is that Heart, which loved men so much… to the point of consuming itself to testify to them its love; and as compensation, I receive nothing but ingratitude from most people, due to their irreverence and sacrilege, and the coldness and contempt they have for me in this Sacrament of love!
Therefore, Jesus’ greatest complaint is for the Eucharistic sacrileges and for the coldness and irreverence with which he is treated in the Tabernacles; his greatest desire is Eucharistic reparation.
Saint Margaret says: One day, after Holy Communion, my Divine Spouse presented himself to me in the guise of Ecce Homo, carrying the Cross, all covered with wounds and bruises. His adorable Blood flowed from every part of Him and He said to me in a sad and sorrowful voice: Will there be no one who will have pity on me, no one who wants to sympathize with me and take part in my pain in the pitiful state in which sinners put me?
Another day, when a person had received Communion badly, Jesus showed himself to Santa Margherita as if tied and trampled under the feet of that sacrilegious soul and in a sad voice he said to her: Look at how sinners treat me!
And yet another time, while he was received sacrilegiously, he showed himself to the Saint, saying to her: Look how that soul who received me treats me; it renewed all the pains of my Passion! – Then Margaret, throwing herself at the feet of Jesus, said: My Lord and my God, if my life can be useful in repairing these injuries, here I am as a slave; do with me whatever you like! – The Lord immediately invited her to make an honorable amends to repair so many Eucharistic sacrileges.
After what has been said, an important resolution should be taken from all the devotees of the Sacred Heart, to be remembered if possible every day: Offer the Masses that are heard, on holidays and on weekdays, and always offer Holy Communion with the intention to repair the Eucharistic sacrileges, especially of the day, the coldness and irreverence that is done to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament; other intentions can also be put, but the main one is the Eucharistic reparation. In this way the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus is consoled.
The other resolution, which must never be forgotten and which is like the fruit of the month of the Sacred Heart, is the following: To have great faith in Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, to honor his Eucharistic Heart and to know how to find comfort in sorrows at the foot of the Tabernacle, strength in temptations, the source of graces. The fact, which will now be narrated, is of great teaching to the devotees of the Sacred Heart.
Prayer of a Rent Mother
In the book “Treasure of History on the Sacred Heart” a wonderful conversion is reported.
In New York a young man of about twenty years of age, given to debauchery, was arrested. After two years he was released from prison; but the same day he was released, he got into a fight and was mortally wounded. The police took him home. The mother of the young delinquent was very religious, devoted to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus; her husband, a terrible man, a teacher of wickedness to his son, was her daily cross. The unhappy woman endured everything, sustained by her faith.
When he looked at his wounded son, knowing he was close to death, he did not hesitate to take an interest in his soul.
– My poor son, you are very ill; death is near you; you must present yourself to God; it’s time to think about your soul!
In response, the young man directed a litany of insults and curses at her and looked for some object within reach to throw at her.
Who could have converted this sinner? Only God, with a miracle! God put a beautiful inspiration in the woman’s mind, which was immediately implemented.
The mother took an image of the Sacred Heart and tied it to the foot of the bed, where her son lay; she then ran to the Church, to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and the Most Holy Virgin, and she was able to listen to Mass. With a bitter heart she could only formulate this prayer: Lord, you who said to the good thief «Today you will be with me in Paradise! », remember my son in your kingdom and do not let him perish forever!
He never tired of repeating this prayer and only this one.
The Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, which was moved by the tears of the widow of Naim, was also moved by the prayers of this mother, who turned to Him for help and comfort, and worked a miracle. While she was still in Church, Jesus appeared to her dying son, in the form of the Sacred Heart, and said to him: Today you will be with me in Paradise!
The young man was moved, he recognized his sad state, he was sorry for his sins; in an instant he became another..
When the mother returned home and saw her son serene, smiling, she knew that the Sacred Heart had appeared to him and said the words, one day spoken by the Cross to the good thief: “Today you will be with me in Paradise!” … », She, full of joy, said: My son, do you now want a Priest? – Yes mom, and right away!
The Priest came and the young man confessed. The minister of God, having finished the confession, burst into tears and said to his mother: I have never heard a similar confession; Your son seemed ecstatic to me!
Shortly thereafter her husband returned home and, having heard the story of the appearance of the Sacred Heart, immediately changed his mentality. The son said to him: My Father, you too pray to the Sacred Heart and He will save you!
The young man died the same day, after receiving communion. His father converted and always lived as a good Christian.
Trusting prayer at the foot of the Tabernacle is the precious key to penetrating the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus.
