Open LAcquaVIS, the long-awaited pool in the center

It opened yesterday, unfortunately on a day with uncertain weather, LAcquaVIS, la swimming pool in the historic center of Lavis, which has been awaited for years and comes at the end of a long work: between Covid, price increases and a design not without complexity.

The objective has been achieved and Lavis has its “urban beach” available againa unique event in this sense for Trentino.

The mayor, Andrea Brugnara, explains:«A long process for the total renovation of the previous facility, which dated back to the 1950s, is concluded. The choice was to rebuild the pool where it has always been, to have a space that can be reached on foot, in a quiet area, which can lend itself well to the needs of children and teenagers but also to a break during the working day.

The pool is 25 meters by 12.50, with a depth ranging from 1.60 to 1.40 and a series of cutting-edge features on the systems. The water level is flush with the edge.

In general, there has been great attention to aesthetics as well as functionality, with architecture, colors and spaces designed in every detail. The same goes for changing rooms and services, there is also a bar that will work both for the pool and for external customers. The large terrace – solarium then lends itself to a series of uses, even in the evening».

Deputy Mayor Luca Paolazzi adds: «Closing the pool seven years ago was a painful choice, but one of great responsibility, because safety must always come first.

Complex years followed, in which we carried out many other important works, but we never stopped working to give Lavis back its plant. For decades this has been an important place, to which the local community is very fond and where everyone, of different generations, learned to swim and spent long, warm afternoons happy and in company.

Today it is a beautiful, sustainable structure, suitable for a Municipality like ours; moreover it is fortunate to be located a few kilometers from many other facilities, which have complementary offers. Our “urban” swimming pool is one of a kind and I hope that the new generations will become as fond of it as the previous ones were fond of the old structure. This is a new piece to increase the attractiveness of Lavis and the quality of life of its citizens».

The facility is managed by Snd Nuotatori Trentini, whose president Nerio Danieli comments:: «Our aim is to attract the public of Lavis but not only. We will propose our activities with swimming courses, water aerobics and much more. The Municipality has done an excellent job, with a facility that is truly accessible by any means. I invite everyone to come to LAcquaVis: you will come out happy».
