It is a Ravenna that is already widely sketched out that Mister Mauro Antonioli will begin to coach from July 24th. Goalkeepers and attackers will be brand new (or almost), while defense and midfield will be from memory, given the high number of confirmations, already announced and in the process of being defined. As a logical consequence, we will continue with the same formation, i.e. 3-4-1-2 for the ball possession phase, and 5-3-2 for the non-possession phase. Between the posts, given the departure of Cordaro (two-year contract with Pergolettese) and the retirement of Gian Maria Rossi, the choice was to let the 2005 quota be played. Gabriele Fresia from Vado is likely to be the starter, while the ‘twelfth’ should be Matteo Galassi from Cesena, a product of the Juventus youth team, returning from his loan at Adriese. In defense, the list of confirmed players is very long. Perhaps we would be quicker to say who doesn’t stay, namely Alessandro Gobbo of 2004 and Giuseppe Liso of 2005. The others will all play another year with Ravenna. Central defender Adriano Esposito has already been officially announced, as has wildcard Umberto Agnelli. All the odds will follow immediately, namely the 2004 Cosimo Spezzano and Sasha Mancini; 2005 Mattia Marino, and 2006 Giacomo Calandrini, who can also be used in midfield. In midfield, while waiting for the new faces, it is clear that the decision has been made to continue along the worker-playmaker axis, with Paolino Rrapaj in the midfield and with Umberto Nappello in the role of finisher. This is a widely tested dynamic, and capable of guaranteeing different and unpredictable tactical alternatives.
Matteo Alluci will continue to play midfielder, while among the starters there are Aziz Sare, but above all Simone Campagna, protagonist of a season at the highest levels. In the offensive department, with Tirelli, Pavesi, Diallo and Varriale having left, there will be many new features. At the moment, the only one confirmed is Antonio Sabbatani who, despite limited spaces, was able to score 10 goals, confirming his flair even as a rookie, after the 17 goals with Medicina in Eccellenza.
The strikers Loreto Lo Bosco del Vado and Luca Di Renzo from Roma City have been ‘booked’ for some time, while sporting director Mandorlini has confirmed that he has a ‘suggestive’ negotiation for the return of the twenty-six-year-old Simone Saporetti from Ravenna. The Villanova striker, after the 30 goals scored in D with the Giallorossi shirt in 2021-22, in the following season attempted to land among the profs (first in Trento then in Renate, called by Dossena), however finding his dimension in Serie D. In fact, last season he brought Carpi to Serie C with goals (21) and assists (9).
