Fortitudo Pallacanestro announced that it has reached an agreement to assign coach Devis Cagnardi the technical supervision of Fortitudo Flats Service. The former coach of Fortitudo Agrigento, although he was contacted by Agrigento Moncada for a hypothetical return, has finally landed in Bologna.

Cagnardi was born in Pisogne in February 1976 and began his coaching career in 2006, coaching the youth teams of Reggio Emilia and being promoted to assistant coach in 2010 and, subsequently, to head coach in 2018.

With Pallacanestro Reggiana he contributed to the victory of the EuroChallenge in 2014, as well as to the participation in the EuroCup and the LBA championship final in 2015, the year in which Dinamo Sassari won. In the 2015/16 season, as assistant coach in Reggio Emilia, he brought home the Italian Super Cup and took part in the Scudetto final again, this time against Milan.

In June 2019 he took over as manager of Fortitudo Agrigento, which was playing in Serie A2 that year, and led the team to second place in the standings, behind Turin.

In the summer of 2020 he served as head coach of Blue Basket Treviglio, leading the team for an entire season, before moving to Bergamo the following year, reaching the playoff semi-final.

Two years later, during the 2022/23 season, Cagnardi returned to manage Fortitudo Agrigento, a newcomer to Serie A2, earning permanence four days early.

In the following season, he was introduced as the new assistant coach of Pallacanestro Cantù, and led the team to the playoff final, lost against Trieste, and to the Final Four of the Italian Cup.

Devis Cagnardi, with such a career and countless goals achieved, presents himself as a promising choice for Fortitudo Bologna, as well as a key figure for the future success of the team, which is ready to fight for the return to A1 under the expert guidance of its new coach.
