A long-awaited job is the restoration and repair of the paved road surface in Piazza San Leone. The work has begun. The work will continue, weather permitting, in Vicolo del Casone (the section near the intersection with Via Puccinelli) then in Via Buonfanti (between Vicolo Ombroso and Via Porta Guidi). After that it will be the turn of Via degli Archi (the section near the intersection of Via Curtatone and Montanara) and again Via Panciatichi (between Via Amati and Via Cavour), and finally Via della Rosa (in the section near Via Cavour).
“These are routine maintenance works carried out by technicians from the Municipal Construction Site,” explains Public Works Councilor Alessandra Frosini, “to fix some sections of the city center streets. Each intervention is expected to be completed within a day, or two at most, as in the case of Via della Rosa, to minimize disruption. The work involves removing the existing loose paving stones and then temporarily storing them near the intervention area, after which a slab will be built on which the previously removed stones will be placed. The work will be completed with a re-grouting operation.” To allow the work to take place, some changes to traffic will be made. From 7 a.m. on July 3 until 7 a.m. on July 4, a traffic ban will be in place in Via Buonfanti (the section between Vicolo Ombroso and Via Porta Guidi). From 7 a.m. on July 4 until 7 a.m. on July 5, a traffic ban will also be in place in Via degli Archi. From 7:00 a.m. on July 5th to 7:00 a.m. on July 6th, in via dei Panciatichi, which will also be the transit will be prohibited. Same thing from July 8th to 10th in via della Rosa.
