TRENT. Last Friday evening, Trento seemed different: the more than springlike warmth, mixed with the numerous people who – between an ice cream and a frozen drink – animated the city centre, had contributed to making the atmosphere fully summery.

The scenery, far too picturesque, was certainly disturbed for those of the Perla Bar, in via Belenzani, managed by Syria Caputo and Argjend Berisha, for an unexpected fine. At 11.15pm the Perla Bar received a fine for playing music after hours. The extra time would have been 15 minutescompared to the rule that would see the music turned off at 11.00 pm, as per municipal police regulation.

«After so many years, Via Belenzani also has its life and we receive a fine for being fifteen minutes late, one might expect a warning. At work we don’t have the clock in our hands, it’s certainly not done intentionally” Syria underlined in an Instagram story on the bar’s profile, which went viral as normal given that the managers have 80,000 followers.

“Those who do badly are praised and those who really try are massacred,” says Syria. The story is very essential: «At 11.15pm they entered the room, asking Argjend for documents. He apologized saying that he hadn’t noticed the time, he added that he would have turned it off immediately. The fine arrived anyway” specified the owner.

«The part to underline is that at 10.45pm, exactly half an hour before the fine, we had made an Instagram story in which we could see the street, there was no situation out of place – we want it to be like this – and the noise of the music it certainly didn’t cover the voice of a person in front of our restaurant, it was background music».

The fine for the bar comes immediately following the ordinance that imposes Al Kafè Matrix, La Scaletta and al Dejavù, in the area of Via Santa Maria Maddalena, the ban on the sale of alcohol to take away and the obligation to employ a control services officer for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – the reason was to be found “in the increase in noise, verified by the local police, compromising the residents’ right to rest”.

If at 11pm, a few streets away, there is no more “takeaway alcoholic drinks”, at the same time the Perla Bar will turn off the music with the punctuality of a Swiss watch.

The fine has yet to arrive via certified e-mail, but some points will be deducted from the bar license, on the part of the customers, however, there is indignation, as can be read among the comments on the Welcome to Trento Instagram page, which reposted the Perla stories, there are also those present who have chosen to express themselves, underlining how ” the fine situation is shameful.”
