The number of accidents that occurred today on the A4, a motorway affected by very heavy traffic since the morning, has increased. The four accidents that occurred during the morning were followed by a fifth, just before 4pm. In the late afternoon, a bus then hit a truck: 10 people were injured, but not seriously. This was announced by Autostrade Alto Adriatico.

The accident between the bus, which was carrying 26 people, and the truck occurred around 6.15pm between San Donà di Piave and Cessalto, in the direction of Trieste, at kilometer 428+200. At the point where the accident occurred, traffic flows along the emergency lane as the bus occupies part of the travel and overtaking lane. The heavy vehicle has already been removed from the road. Several teams of firefighters and medical personnel are working on site.

The 4pm collision, which occurred at kilometer 445 in the stretch between San Stino and the Portogruaro junction, also in the direction of Trieste, involved two heavy vehicles. One person was not seriously injured. At the point of the accident the travel lane was closed and traffic flowed on the overtaking lane.

However, the removal operations of the two heavy vehicles involved in the accident at kilometer 420 in the three-lane stretch between Meolo and San Donà di Piave are currently being completed. In the meantime, the dealership staff has cleared the roadway of the material (marble slabs) lost by the articulated lorry that hit the car transporter. The vehicles, coming from Venice, still proceed on the fastest lane as the other two are occupied by the two vehicles and the recommended redirection on the A27/A28 bypass continues. There are queues from Venice East to San Donà di Piave towards Trieste.

In the early afternoon, however, the stretch between San Donà and Cessalto was reopened, again in the direction of Trieste, and the entrance to the San Donà junction was reopened, having previously been closed due to the accident which occurred at around 10 am: three heavy vehicles involved, with injuries.

A first accident occurred at 8am between Cessalto and San Stino at kilometer 437, involving two heavy vehicles and three cars. One person was seriously injured. A few minutes later, right along the queue that had formed, at kilometer 433, another collision occurred between two heavy vehicles. One of these had lost its load of paper which had spilled onto the asphalt.
