Gold and Silver at the Italian championships for Andrea D’Ippolito from Campobasso

Still important results for Andrea D’Ippolito, rising star of Italian fencing and born in Campobassa. In recent days, he won the gold medal in the Italian Gold Spada Youth championship and the silver medal in the Italian Gold Spada Assoluti championship. Results that will allow him to participate in the finals of the two categories which will take place next Sunday in Genoa and on 7 July in Cagliari respectively.

Even in the new category, that of the Giovanissimi, Andrea D’Ippolito is therefore asserting himself, after having arrived, in the previous category, that of the Cadets, in third place in the national ranking. Trained by Maurizio Mencarellihas been on the list of athletes of national interest for some time now.

A member of the «Victoria Scherma» of Turin, Andrea started fencing at the age of eleven and is now in the fourth year of the Galileo Ferraris scientific high school. He lives the experience of sport in an all-encompassing way but without forgetting his school commitments. From Monday to Friday, after the school morning, he goes straight to the gym to study, until 5pm, and then train until 9pm.
