The Prefect, Giuseppe Forlenza, chaired a meeting of the Committee this morning, Thursday 27 June
Provincial for Public Order and Security, with the participation of the provincial representatives of the Police Force, the Railway Police, the Mayor of Bergamo, Elena Carnevali, as well as the Commander of the Local Police of Bergamo, Gabriella Messina and the representatives of the Railways of the State, of RFI, of FS Sistemi Urbani, of Trenord, of TEB, of ATB, to overcome the critical issues, also from a hygienic-sanitary point of view, connected to the presence of more people who currently gravitate in the area of the railway station affected by the works for the new infrastructural equipment.
The roundtable was a positive discussion which allowed, thanks to the proactiveness and full collaboration shown by all the representatives of the institutions present, to identify the actions that will be promptly implemented.
In this regard, already today RFI, owner with Sistemi Urbani of the station area involved in the works, is positioning wooden bulkheads on the first track to avoid access to the construction site. The Municipality of Bergamo, in the area of its competence (underpass and related security door) has already activated Aprica for an extraordinary cleaning operation which will also be carried out in the next few days. The municipal administration has also confirmed maximum collaboration together with third sector bodies that deal with serious marginalization. As regards the control activity at the Bergamo railway station, the device already in place was confirmed.
