The worker who disappeared in Trezzo sull’Adda on Friday morning, an eighty-year-old pensioner who disappeared into thin air and was presumably swallowed up by the Adda in Cassano just four days earlier, a black week on the riverbank, and days of double work, these last ones, for the police and volunteers. In fact, if the last-minute urgency is to find traces of Claudio Togni, who disappeared after falling from the Italgen dam in Trezzo, the search for the first man, already identified as an eighty-year-old from the province of Bergamo, who disappeared from his home on June 25th and whose car was found the following day in Cassano d’Adda near the river, has not been formally suspended: for days the stretch of the river in Cassano had been swarming with uniforms, and the firefighters’ helicopters were incessantly searching the area. Two anxious families, teams of dozens of men tirelessly at work. And in both cases a bridge of anguish and prayer between the Adda area and the Bergamo area, where the families waiting live. And throughout the province of Bergamo the main trade unions are close to the relatives of the missing worker: “There will be time to search for possible responsibilities and for further reflections. For now we remain close to the families. And we keep alive the last glimmer of hope”. BUT
