AGLIANA – More important confirmations for the “Vannucci-Menchetti” bowling club in via Deledda in Montemurlo which, after having won the 22nd Champions Cup Trophy promoted by the Regional Coordination of Bocce a Striscio in collaboration with the “Giardino della Libertà” bowling club in Viareggio, on Sunday 23 June won the Coppa del Giugno Aglianese in Agliana (Pistoia).
The event, for teams of five players, was organized by Rolando Nerozzi, president of the Aglianese company. The Montemurlo bowling club fielded the same team as Viareggio, composed of captain Giovanni Mazzanti, 80 years old, Stefano Mattei, Marino Diego, 27 years old, Lorenzo Farinacci and Tommaso Malinconi, 26 years old. Ironically, the Montemurlo players found themselves once again facing the Baracca team from Prato in the final, a team formed by Marco Galeazzi, Fausto Galeazzi, Patrizio Parisi, Antonio Mazzeo and Salvatore Madarena. The winner once again was the “Vannucci -Menchetti” bowling club from Montemurlo, who beat their opponents from Baracca by 18 to 12. The sports councilor, Valentina Vespi, congratulated the team for their great commitment: «Once again our athletes triumph. Meanwhile, in recent days, the “Vannucci Menchetti” bowling club has renewed its board of directors. Giovannangelo Baldini was reconfirmed as president of the bowling club. Mario Borghi, Giovanni Mazzanti, Bruno Molinaro, Becacci Mariella were also elected to the board.
