Il Palio delle Contrade 2024 It’s history. For the first time he wins Alcarina GateThe blue contrada established itself at the top of the competition after having collected seven second places in previous years.
To the historic challenge at Bobbio the blue finally triumphed, but the colors of the various districts were not lacking at its side. As in fact recalls John Albertipresident of the Pro Loco “Those who bridge”each ancient street participates equally: «This is why the Palio is first and foremost a celebration of the people of Bobbio and their welcome, a result that represents the victory of each district and of the entire village».
As usual, there were five factions that challenged each other in various tests of skill, each named after the ancient gates to the medieval city: Porta Agazza, Porta Legleria, Porta Frangula, Porta Nova and, finally, the victorious Porta Alcarina.
Worth mentioning is the record set by Matias Bordagaras at the binge eating contest in Piazza Duomo: he devoured two kilos and 700 grams of well-seasoned macaroni in less than a minute.
