The meeting on the theme “climate, environment and health” promoted by the provincial secretariat of the Christian Democracy of Enna was held at the Hotel Garden in Pergusa, the first of a series of meetings that will serve to bring out the needs of the Enna community in order to promote all the necessary and possible actions to eliminate or at least mitigate those critical issues that have brought this province to the lowest levels of sustainability. There was a great participation and the issues relating to environmental pollution were addressed with particular reference to the tumor pathologies detected in the province of Enna.
After greetings from the provincial secretary of the DC of Enna, Sebastiano Rampulla, the proceedings were introduced by Dr. Caterina Seminara who strongly wanted the meeting to bring, among other things, her personal experience which ended happily.
The Dr. Maria Fascetto Sivillo, inspector and regional contact for chemical safety at the Ministry of Health, spoke on the topic “Environment and health: the water resource”.
Dr. Carlo Santangelo, specialist oncologist and medical director, addressed the topic of “Epidemiology of tumors in the province of Enna”.
Finally, Sen. Domenico Scilipoti Isgrò, specialist in Obstetrics and gynecology as well as national manager of the DC health department, focused on “Prevention and treatment of environmental pathologies”.
The works were moderated by Dr. Mauro di Piazza, member of the scientific committee of Cemec of the Republic of San Marino and regional manager of Max Emergencies Sicily of the DC.
The works were concluded by the national secretary of the Christian Democracy Toto Cuffaro, who assured the maximum commitment of the New DC to ensure that the critical issues identified during the meeting are carried forward and resolved in the appropriate political fora, many of which affect the entire National territory.
