The implementation of the Single Third Pass/Genoa Node/Campasso Project continues with the construction sites which will be concentrated in the summer months.

In this period the new Central Computerized Equipment of Genoa Brignole will be activated, the demolition of the railway viaduct on the Polcevera river will begin as part of the construction activities of the Bivio Fegino – Porto Storico connection and the renewed Campasso Park and the construction of the two new tracks between Genoa Voltri And Genoa Sampierdarena is between Genoa Principe And Genoa Brignole.

Furthermore, a new phase of interventions will be launched with a total value of 84 million euros, also financed with PNRR funds, which will make it possible to improve the regularity of the railway service on the Genoa – Acqui Terme line.

In this phase, the following will be carried out: the renewal and rehabilitation of 12 km of track between Campo Ligure and Ovada, a new underpass with the removal of architectural barriers in the Prasco Cremolino station.

In addition to these interventions, extraordinary maintenance works will be added to the Colla, Pre di Mè, Turchino tunnels and the Roveresso viaduct, as well as further maintenance works on the armament and technological systems. At the same time, upon completion of the ongoing authorization process, the large construction site of the Mele artificial tunnel will begin.

To allow interventions to be carried out continuously and during both day and night time, some lines will be closed to rail traffic during the summer.

The periods were identified with the aim of minimizing the impact on travelers as much as possible by not interfering with the flows of school commuters with inconvenience to a smaller number of travelers on the home-work route compared to the winter periods.

The interventions will affect the Genoa-Acqui Terme lines, Genoa-Busalla and, more generally the Genoa node where the train circulation program will therefore be remodeled with connections that will be canceled in the entire route, partially or will follow alternative itineraries.

Below is the detail of the periods affected by the interruptions of some Ligurian routes:

From 8.00 am on Friday 28th to midnight on Sunday 30th June The activation of the ACC of the new Genoa node in Genova Brignole is scheduled with various processing phases.

Lines involved: all connections to and from Genova Brignole, with specific cancellations and limitations at other appropriate stations; Furthermore, the Genoa Voltri-Genoa Nervi metropolitan connections will be suspended for the entire day of Saturday 29 June.

From 6 July to 4 August due to infrastructural improvement works on the Genoa-Acqui Terme line, traffic will be suspended on the Acqui T. – Ovada – Campo Ligure section. On the weekends of 6-7 July, 13-14 July and from 20 July to 4 August the entire Acqui Terme-Genoa route will be suspended. Genoa – Acqui Terme line involved.

From 6 to 16 July and from 27 July to 8 September due to the construction of the Fegino – Campasso – Parco Rugna crossroads connection, the coveted Genoa junction, traffic will be suspended near Genoa Rivarolo. Line involved: Genoa – Busalla.

From August 5th to September 8th for the construction of the Genoa Voltri – Genova Sampierdarena quadrupling in the Genoa Terzo Valico hub, some trains will be limited or canceled or will travel along alternative itineraries. Lines involved: Genoa-Acqui Terme between Campo Ligure and Genoa, Genoa-Busalla and Genoa-Arquata-Novi Ligure.

From 4 to 8 September due to the construction of the Fegino – Campasso – Parco Rugna crossroads connection, the coveted Genoa junction, traffic will be suspended near Genoa Rivarolo. Line involved: Genoa – Busalla.

Focus on traffic changes on the Genoa-Ovada-Acqui Terme line:

Traffic suspended on the entire line from Acqui T. to Genoa: weekends 6/7, 13/14 July and from 20 July to 4 August;

Traffic suspended between Campo Ligure and Acqui Terme: from 8 to 12 and from 15 to 19 July;

Traffic suspended from Genoa to Campo Ligure: from 5 August to 8 September.
