‘It is urgent to reopen the Fulgatore railway station’

Immediately reopen the Fulgatore railway station, in the municipality of Trapani. This is the theme of the urgent question filed today by the PD MP Dario Safina from Trapani, addressed to the President of the Region Renato Schifani and the Infrastructure Councilor Alessandro Aricò.

“The Fulgatore railway station – explains Safina – has represented for decades an important point of reference for users of the Erice agro-community – its closure in 2013 due to a landslide on the Palermo-Trapani railway line generated considerable inconvenience for commuters forced to resort to alternative means of transport”.

Safina underlines the importance of including the Fulgatore station in the recovery project of the entire Palermo-Trapani via Milo railway line, given its strategic position which involves the entire surrounding area.

The reactivation of the railway connection is essential to guarantee an efficient service to the citizens of the Erice agricultural area – continues Safina -. It is necessary to carry out new interventions to allow the reopening of the Fulgatore station and make the railway network accessible to all. Thanks to the Erice Democratic Party group and councilor Amodeo, for promptly raising the issue“.

The MP from Trapani therefore appeals to the regional government and the Italian Railway Network (FS Group) to work towards agreeing on the reopening of the Fulgatore railway station as quickly as possible.
