This year’s edition of “La San Giorgio” will begin in the heart of Alessandria on May 3, 2024, coinciding with the “Birthday of the City”. This year, the event stands out for a particular emphasis on the city’s cultural heritage, explored through different initiatives and points of view.
One of the focuses of the event will be the attention to the province’s agri-food chain, with a special focus on two of the most traditional local culinary delights: agnolotto and ravioli. These will be explored and served in various variations by 31 Alessandria restaurants, in a series of multidisciplinary experiences that will be held in Piazzetta della Lega, in a pavilion specially equipped for the occasion.
The inauguration of the event will be organized by ATL Alexala, which has organized a meeting open to the public next Friday at 6.00 pm. The dialogue will feature Luca Ferrua, director of “Il Gusto”, and Eleonora Riso, winner of the 2024 edition of MasterChef. The session, titled “The Story of Food Beyond Convention,” promises to be an intriguing exploration of local culinary traditions put into new context.
In the following days, the Lega square will host further initiatives, organized by bodies such as CIA, Coldiretti and Confagricoltura, continuing to celebrate the rich agri-food and cultural heritage of Alessandria.
This event not only celebrates the gastronomic heritage of Alexandria but also serves as an important moment of cultural reflection, offering participants a deep immersion in the roots and innovations that characterize the cuisine and culture of the region.
