In recent days the soldiers of the Carabinieri Station of Pergine Valsugana (TN) tracked down and arrested a 17-year-old young man from Morocco, against whom the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Juvenile Court of Trento had issued an Application Order of pre-trial detention in prison.
The restrictive precautionary measure was adopted against the minor as he was held responsible for improper robbery aggravated by the use of offensive instruments in competition with two other people to the detriment of a peer, and for having become the protagonist of two separate episodes of threats , violence and insult to a public official. The robbery for which proceedings were carried out took place about a month ago at the free beach on the Caldonazzo lakefront, to the detriment of a 17-year-old girl, from whom she – together with two other accomplices – had stolen her mobile phone. Upon the reaction of the victim who had tried to take the mobile phone back, the young man sprayed her face with stinging spray, and then fled with her companions (a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old). The immediate investigations by the Carabinieri made it possible to trace their identity and recover the stolen iPhone.
The first of the episodes of threats, violence and insult to a public official occurred in the immediately following days, during his transfer to a socio-educational community in the province of Salerno; on this occasion he mimed several times cutting the throat of the soldiers who were accompanying him, also kicking and punching him.
He fled from that community after only a few hours, before returning to Trentino again. After a few days he became the protagonist of a new episode of intemperance: having gone to the reception community of San Vito di Pergine Valsugana, where he had been a guest in the previous months, he began to rail against some passers-by, even threatening them with a glass bottle route. The Carabinieri, promptly alerted, managed to disarm and contain him, albeit with many difficulties. In the last period, despite having been removed from the San Vito facility due to his violent behavior (he had attacked a cleaner; he attacked and threatened a volunteer and an educator from the cooperative that manages the center with a knife) he had tried more times to return. Following his arrest, the minor was taken to the penal institution for minors in Treviso. In any case, the presumption of innocence applies to the person under investigation until his guilt is proven by a final sentence.
