“It’s time for change, we need new blood” – Sanremonews.it

At Palazzo Bellevue it is the day of ‘last dance‘ of the Biancheri administration. After 10 years the longest-serving mayor in the history of the City of Flowers took leave of the city council which saw him as a protagonist for two terms together with the councils that accompanied him twice at the helm of the city.

An assembly opened precisely by the words of the mayor Alberto Biancheri who, visibly moved, after an initial speech by the president of the city council, Alexander the Great, greeted the room by opening the discussion on the management report for the 2023 financial year: “This is the 151st time at the city council, for me it is the last and it is useless to hide emotion, pride and all the feelings we are feeling. A great deal of work has been done trying to complete important works. It has a certain effect on me to think that this is the last piece of advice, but there is also happiness, the time has come for a change, new blood is needed. There is great emotion, we have fought many battles here and I want to thank you, a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all of you, in 151 councils there has never been a shortage of quorum numbers and it is a sign of trust in me. Without you it would not have been possible to carry out many projects. I also thank the opposition, a friendship has been established with many of you and I wish you all the best for your future full of satisfactions. Thanks to the municipal employees, there was respect and friendship, a feeling that made me happy. Thanks to the work of our managers and secretaries we have managed to achieve great results”.
