So for years it has become a trend, however Montelago Celtic Festivalwelcome spectators from all over Europe who intersperse their journey in the largest plein air folk festival in Italy, immersing themselves for a weekend in the fantastic and extravagant world of our local Middle Earth, between music, literature, art, sport, craftsmanship, adventure and nature.
The Festival, scheduled this year from Wednesday 31 July until 3 August on the Colfiorito plateau a Taverns of Serravalle di Chienti (Macerata), in the heart of the Umbria-Marche Apennines, stands as a landing point for an alternative mini holiday, to be organized even last minute, increasingly nomadic and eco-sustainable, with the “Eco Certified Events” recognition from Legambiente.
A special place where you can make new friends, observe the sun and stars, enjoy the surrounding area, with a outdoor program which includes both arriving at the event on foot, through solitary villages and mountains and guided itineraries to discover the fascinating area bordering Marche and Umbria to visit.
Like the Botte dei Varano and the Roman Conduct of the 1st century BC, the Church of Santa Maria di Plestia and the Paleontological Museums of Serravalle and MAC, Archaeological of Colfiorito (Pg), and from which you can then start again to reach, less than an hour of car, the Adriatic coast or the even closer white beaches of Fiastra lake.
For those who want a full immersion in nature there is the suggestive itinerary along the Valle Scurosa, between slopes and deep gorges, in the name of trekking or walks on two wheels, even with a guide, without forgetting your neighbor Sibillini Mountains National Park, an enchanted place par excellence. To fully experience the magical atmosphere of the festival, an area of 10 hectares is reserved for free camping for tents.
