The owner of Luminance, however, according to the New York Times, comes from the other side of the fence: he is the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov, considered the richest oligarch in the country led by Volodymyr Zelensky. Akhmetov built his empire through investment holdings System Capital Managementwhich has interests in the steel sector (he also owns the Mariupol steelworks, the scene of ferocious clashes between the Russians and the Azov battalion), energy and the real estate sector. He is also president of Shakhtar Donetsk, Ukrainian football team.

And at the beginning of last year the oligarch decided to give himself the gift of the Luminance: at the moment it is not known for how long this gigantic floating ultra-luxury villa will be stationed in Cagliari.
