The executive project for the works at the headquarters in Piazza Vanvitelli has been approved, the sidewalks in Piazza Matteotti are almost completed

The executive project for the elimination of architectural barriers inside Palazzo Castropignano, the municipal headquarters in Piazza Vanvitelli, has been approved. The intervention, carried out with 243 thousand euros of PR funds – ERDF Campania, is part of the project which provides for the adoption by the Municipalities of the PEBA (Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers).

At this point the tender notice will be prepared and, subsequently, the works will be awarded. Therefore, within the month of September, the construction site will begin, which will allow, after many years of waiting, radical intervention to adapt the Municipal House.

The works are part of the ongoing commitment of the Municipal Administration to promote accessibility and inclusion in public places. This highly relevant project aims to eliminate existing architectural barriers, thus guaranteeing obstacle-free access for all citizens, starting with the disabled.

In detail, a series of interventions are planned such as the installation of access rampsL’adaptation of elevators to the latest safety and accessibility standards, and the modification of toiletsto make them fully usable by people with disabilities.

Still on the subject of removing architectural barriers, the work for the resurfacing of the pavements in Piazza Matteotti is almost completed. In addition to the installation of the new paving, tactile paths for blind or visually impaired people have been set up, as happened in via Turati and all the other pavements built in the city.

An action that is part of the overall plan prepared by the Municipality of Caserta, which aims to eliminate architectural barriers and make mobility easier for disabled people.
