French in Italy to vote, new Philippe Hababou Solomon

Rome, 25 June. (askanews) – The French legislative elections are now imminent, brought forward by decision of President Macron, following the results of the European elections. French people at home and abroad are called to vote for the renewal of the National Assembly. In addition to the millions of French people who will vote across France, hundreds of thousands of citizens living abroad will vote in constituencies around the world. Italy belongs to the 8th district, together with the Vatican, San Marino, Israel, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Italy is the second country in the constituency, after Israel, in terms of the number of French residents. In fact, there are around 35,000 people who have the right to vote through different methods (electronic, physical or by correspondence) and can be decisive in the election of the their representative in the Paris parliament. With the start of this rapid electoral campaign, a new face immediately emerged as a candidate in the constituency: the entrepreneur Phillipe Hababou Solomon, of Tunisian origins, with French citizenship, who lives between London and Dubai. Successful businessman who has decided to take the field to make himself available to his compatriots abroad and to thus be able to better contribute to dialogue and cooperation between governments and countries, given his origins and his knowledge of different cultures and political realities. Solomon arrived in Rome last week for a series of meetings and immediately clarified in an appeal to voters that the support of the French residents in Italy is at the center of his commitment, also expressing his desire to actively contribute to the peace process in the Middle Oriente given its vast network of contacts and expanded international experience alongside presidents and governments around the world, particularly in mediating complex conflicts in Africa and the Middle East. Solomon said he wanted to make his knowledge, skills and mediation skills available to address many of the tense situations plaguing the region and in which France could be instrumental in finding solutions, peace and stability. “My experience allows me to understand the many different cultures, dynamics and needs for mediation in conflict contexts, we must all work for peace,” Solomon said. Philippe Hababou Solomon also underlined his desire to be a bridge for friendship between Italy and France, committing himself to the defense of liberal principles and the free market, as well as the fight against discrimination. “I don’t make empty promises, but I am available to my compatriots to solve their problems. I want to promote a stronger bond between France and Italy and defend the values ​​that unite us, overcoming the silly and traditional tensions between our governments. The presence of so many French people in Italy demonstrates how fraternal we are, capable of enhancing this closeness,” concluded Solomon.
