MEsM@RT is the territory control and monitoring platform made possible thanks to the investments of the PON Metro Messina. It’s a ecosystem of infrastructures, sensors, IT solutions and Open Source applications which has made Messina a true Smart City, oriented towards security, monitoring and resource management. A real tool urban planning which simplifies the development of the area, redesigning and modernizing services and infrastructure.
The main objective of the project was to create a digital ecosystem that would improve urban and territorial safety, starting a system for collecting information for monitoring the territory through sensors, cameras and satellite images. All this, with the aim of improving the lives of citizens, making it simpler, more comfortable and more pleasant.
Thanks to MEsM@RT they come collected data and services, the urban area and the environment are monitored but they also come carry out predictive analyzes for urban planning. The sensors collect data that allow the monitoring and implementation of integrated digital platforms, also usable by all citizens; a tangible tool that allows you to manage various public construction processes in an innovative way. THE citizens can consult the city’s information which are based on continuous monitoring aimed at increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of urban services, accelerating the adoption of new technologies.
A great novelty and a concrete tool to make Messina a true Smart City: safe, connected and digital.
