Massa Lubrense “Sirens and Campanella – The calls of the Gulf” – Earth and Taste

(ANSA) – NAPLES, JUNE 24 – Wednesday 26 June, at 11.00 am, the Sala Maiorca of the Marine Protected Area of ​​Punta Campanella, in Massa Lubrense, will host the final seminar of the multi-year project “Sirens and Campanella – The calls of the Gulf” , supported by the CON IL SUD Foundation.
The main objectives achieved thanks to this initiative were: the enhancement and protection of biodiversity, the development of eco-compatible tourism and the sustainable use of the heritage of local culture and traditions.
Specifically, the project, coordinated by the leading association Objective Napoli, with the involvement of the Management Consortium of the Marine Protected Area of ​​Punta Campanella, the social cooperatives Proodos, ParteNeapolis and La Sorgente as well as the Pro Loco Sant’Agnello, allowed the creation of a buoy field in the stretch of water between the islet of Isca and the Crapolla fjord, for the protection of the Posidonia Oceanica meadows and for the protection of the coasts; involved hundreds of children, school groups, guests of multifunctional centres, local citizens and tourists in routes aimed at discovering the area: from Monte San Costanzo down to Punta Campanella, from the village of Nerano to the Bay of Ieranto, Recommone, Le Mortelle and near Crapolla fjord; it has also promoted the valorisation of local products, thanks to the involvement of small companies, including family-run ones, in the agri-food, fishing and tourism sectors, with the coordination of the Terra Protetta GAL and the Approdo di Ulisse FLAG.
