The group of cyclists from the Polisportiva Cassa di Risparmio di Asti ASD has just concluded the usual cycling tour, which this year took placeFrom Oropa to Graglia, passing through the Oasi Zegna and Varallo”. The organizers called it a “Celestial Tour”.

On the first day, starting from Asti crossing the hills after Montiglio and Brozolo, passing through Cavagnolo, Crescentino, Viverone, from the Bessa Park, Biella, they faced the ascent towards Oropa at a good pace, after 117 km and 1890 meters of altitude difference. The 13 kilometers that took our cyclists towards the Sanctuary of Oropa, passing through Favaro, were the most challenging and evocative, in memory of the great feat of the favorite Marco Pantani who left an indelible page in world cycling, conquering the 15th stage of the Giro d’Italia on 30 May 1999.

On the second day the cyclists faced 104 km with a difference in altitude of 1340 meters from the Sanctuary of Oropa to Varallo Sesia, passing through Graglia along the Trecciolino descent and facing the climb towards Rosazza and Bielmonte, and then descending along the paths of the Oasi Zegna towards Valle Cervo and then reach Varallo.

In the third stage from Varallo Sesia, passing through the western shore of Lake Orta, facing the Colma Pass and the entire Sesia river valley, our athletes covered 106 km with an altitude difference of 1620 meters to reach the top of the Sanctuary of Graglia, an enchanting place and a crossroads of many paths towards the top of Oropa.

In the last stage of 126 km and approximately 1000 meters of altitude difference, our athletes from Graglia faced the return road at a good pace, passing through Ivrea, Candia, where they made a short stop along the lake, Casalborgone, Val Rilate, Cossombrato , Serravalle to arrive in Asti in the early afternoon.

Salvatore Aliotta, Franco Brigo, Sergio Donna, Claudio Giaretto, Fiorenzo Massano, Massimo Mossino, Franco Olivero, Mauro Squillari, Marco Tartaglino, Angelo Traversa, Giovanni Turello, Nunzio Vitellaro participated, accompanied and assisted as always by their friends Gianfranco Ferrero and Sandro Gatti.
