Teachers, male and female students involved by Legambiente in an educational journey on the protection of biodiversity and the phenomenon of interactions between dolphins and fishing

The comprehensive institute of Loiri Porto San Paolo in the province of Sassari is among the winners of the contest “Dolphin as a friend” in which AMP Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo and the SEAME Sardinia association collaborated

Create greater awareness of the need to protect the sea resource and its biodiversity, and above all spread the message. It is on this track that we are the educational path was developed by Legambientededicated to the 4th and 5th classes of primary schools and lower secondary schools in various regions including La Sardinia. At the end of the educational journey, male and female students had the opportunity to participate in the contest “Dolphin as a friend” which he rewarded the comprehensive institute of Loiri Porto San Paolo in the province of Sassari together with two other institutes in Campania.

As part of the European project Life Delphicoordinated by Irbim-CNR, Legambiente has developed an educational path to inform and raise awareness among young people about the protection of marine biodiversity and, in particular, about the work carried out by the Life Delfi project to reduce interactions between dolphins and fisheries. Life Delfi, co-financed by the LIFE Program of the European Union, aims to spread acoustic deterrents with the aim of safeguarding dolphins from accidental catches and protecting fishing from damage resulting from the phenomenon of bycatch.

The educational path developed in educational workshops in which hundreds of students in different Italian regions participated.
