At the PalaEstra Brescia wins by three sets to one. Consoli Sferc also wins the second match of the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup and qualifies for the Final Four of the competition.
First set Siena begins the match with Nevot and Krauchuk on the setter-opposite diagonal, Pierotti and Tallone in the band, Trillini and Copelli in the center, Bonami libero. Brescia starts with Tiberti-Klapwijk, Gavilan-Cominetti, Candeli-Erati, Pesaresi.
Brescia immediately scores a partial score: 1-4 with an ace from Cominetti and a winning block from the Brescians. The Lombards led by Gavilan take the lead at 2-7. There are two points from Marco Pierotti for Siena, then a touch from Nevot makes it 13-16. Ace by Tallone, but a block from Brescia brings the score to 16-20.
Gavilan scores again for the Brescians. Coach Graziosi inserts Milan in place of Krauchuk, Emma Villas returns to -2 (19-21). Another winning serve for Gavilan (19-23). Brescia closes the set with Klapwijk (22-25).
Third set Marco Pierotti and an ace from Trillini: this time the set starts well for Siena (2-0). Candeli replies. Nice attack from Tallone, then comes the winning block from Thomas Nevot: 6-4. Murata also signed Trillini: 7-4. Brescia comes closer with Cominetti’s winning service: 7-6. Another Sienese block, this time created by Marco Pierotti: 10-7.
Siena passes from the center with Trillini and Acuti: 12-9. Acuti scored again for 13-10. Emma Villas extends with Sebastiano Milan’s break point: 14-10. From place 4 Alessio Tallone hits, it’s +5 for Siena.
Sebastiano Milan’s attack is winning: 18-14. Gavilan’s attack was out (19-14). Now the Sienese team performs better on the block, Trillini prints another one. Milan for its part continues to attack profitably, scoring another two points (22-16). Acuti increasingly protagonist in the third set: 23-17. Two points from Tallone close the set at 25-18.
Fourth set Brescia extends to the halfway mark, a block from Gavilan makes it 11-14. Nevot looks to the center and Acuti hits.
