Higher education students visiting the Mòchena community

The study visit took place last Friday at the Mòchena community of the students of the Higher Education of the ENAIP Institute of Villazzano, focused on the use of stone and wood in the construction of rural buildings, within a series of study, research and reconnaissance to define the characteristics of traditional building in the Alpine landscape.

The day, promoted by TSM|Step – School for the Government of Territory and Landscape as part of the PNRR Call for Borghi a Palù del Fersina, opened with an excursion to the upper Fersina Valley to deepen knowledge of the subjects and construction techniques with which the residential and rural buildings in the Mòchena community were built, already learned in the classroom with a first meeting dedicated to the same topic.
The group, accompanied and guided by Leo Toller of the Mocheno cultural institute, Elisa Iachelini and Cesare Benedetti, course tutor, visited the Jorger and Batister farms, going upstream to some summer huts in the Jorgereck and Scheller localities. In the afternoon the visit continued in Fierozzo at the Filzerhof farm and the museum section of the Mòcheno cultural institute, curated by Claudia Marchesoni.
