Everyone But You on blu-ray, the review: the ideal video for a successful romantic comedy

There are still fun and intelligent romantic comedies, in which everything seems to fit together properly, from the chemistry of the actors to the tantalizing and tormented love story, from the well-timed laughter to the splendid locations. And it is no coincidence that they are also rewarded by the public. It is the case of Everyone except youa film directed by Will Gluck which collected 6 million at the Italian box office, thanks also to the verve of the two protagonists, Sydney Sweeney And Glen Powell.

The two play Ben and Bea, protagonists of a very brief, very romantic encounter that then ends with a sensational misunderstanding that will lead them to hate each other. Some time later, however, they find themselves on the same plane headed to Australia, both invited to a wedding. But since Bea’s parents want to take advantage of this to get her back together with her ex Jonathan, she will use her Ben as her fake boyfriend to derail her plan. Now Everyone except you it was also released on homevideo, with a blu-ray by Eagle Pictures which as we will see in this review presents a perfect product to appreciate the atmosphere of romantic comedydespite a somewhat subdued extra department.

Perfect video for a rom-com: warm colors and lots of exposed skin

Everyone But You Bluray

Why are we talking about an ideal product for the film genre? For the simple reason that on the video front, Eagle’s Blu-ray of Everyone Except You is the perfect reproduction of the most classic of romantic comedies. There hot photography it is accompanied by a well-calibrated contrast that enhances the vibrant colors and a very rich tone and always makes the picture very exuberant. This look, in addition to making the interior comfortable, makes the interior incredibly romantic sunny exteriors (thanks also to the splendid location) and the night scenes are evocative.

But not only that, because combined with an excellent level of detail, this look means that every occasion or incident in which the protagonists undress allows us to admire a definition of the bodies and a naturalness of the skin truly record-breaking. The picture, precisely because of these visual characteristics, is always clear, without ever leading to artificiality, and above all free of smudges.

Sparkling audio with lots of panache

On the front audio we find the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks for both the Italian and the English original. We are certainly not faced with an action film, but there are several rather lively sequences in which the department shows off good quality with a lively surround activity and some interventions from the diver. Good energy is also present in the noise of the waves and wind and in general in an environment that is lively and pleasant. Even the surrender of the soundtrack it is warm and enveloping, while the dialogues are clean and have a good tone. An audio that is not explosive, but perfectly in keeping with the atmosphere of a film of this genre.

Fun extras but too few

Where the edition loses some points is in the department extra, which contains less than 20 minutes of contributions, although some featurettes are quite entertaining. We start with He said she said (4′) with curiosity about the two protagonists, then Everyone in Australia (4′) on the extraordinary location. Following Errors and bloopers (3′) with some funny moments on set, then three deleted scenes (almost 2 minutes in total). To close the marketing material section (3 and a half minutes in total) which contains two contributions: ASMR pick up quoteswith Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell whispering witty things into a microphone, and Australian snacks about local food.

Conclusions

To conclude the review of Tutti Except Te on blu-ray, we reiterate the video quality of the Eagle product, which manages to perfectly convey the look, photography and typical atmospheres of a romantic comedy. The audio is also of excellent quality, while the extras department is a bit subdued with not even 20 minutes of contributions.

Because we like it

  • A video that enhances the warm photography and the typical tones of a romantic comedy.
  • Sparkling audio that exudes energy in the most eventful moments.
  • Some extras are fun.

What’s wrong

  • But the special contents are really too few.
