No, Thor: Love and Thunder will never be one of the films most loved by fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Taika Waititi’s latest foray into the franchise proved to be a real failure from the point of view of reception by critics and fans, and lately his the protagonists themselves are lowering their rating.
The last one to speak on the matter was himself Chris Hemsworthwho some time after Taika Waititi’s declarations about his initial disinterest in Thor admitted, very frankly, that he was not particularly proud of the work done with the latest film about his beloved God of Thunder.
“I got carried away by improvisation and wanting to be over the top and I am I’ve become a parody of myself. I couldn’t handle the landing” were the words with which the actor said he was unable to forgive himself for the drift taken by the character on the occasion of his last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We’ll see if there’s a way to do it redeem themselves in the future (or rather: when there is a way), but for now it is probably right that Hemsworth takes some time to reflect on what to do.
