Brigands-8

Brigands

Available on Netflix

Set in mid-nineteenth century Southern Italy, Briganti is a modern, epic and action-packed tale of the phenomenon of brigandage. Freely inspired by people, men and women, who actually existed and became symbols of the peasant revolution in post-union Italy, the series is a choral tale of a story of struggle for the freedom of the last. A modern western with an international touch that shines in its direction and cinematography but lacks in its screenplay. RATING 7-

City Hunter-4

CityHunter

Available on Netflix

Live action adaptation of the legendary City Hunter manga. The film, directed by Yuichi Satoh, narrates the adventures of Ryo Saeba, played by Ryohei Suzuki, a well-known “sweeper” who operates in the crude crime of modern Shinjuku in Tokyo. Balancing a calm demeanor with a fun personality, Ryo faces enormous challenges in the underworld. Misato Morita takes on the role of heroine Kaori Makimura in this action-packed adventure. An affectionate but somewhat chaotic tribute. RATING 6
