The city with the best climate in Italy is not in Abruzzo, which still has two capitals in the top ten. Here’s what we’re talking about.
Choose one city in which living (potentially) can also be based on climate quality that has. Of course, for some it might be better to wake up in a place where you know it will be warm, or at least not freezing cold. For others it might be the opposite, but there is also an objectivity.
In this regard, Il Sole 24 Ore has drawn up a ranking, updated with data provided by 3bmeteo relating to the decade 2013-2023, and based on sunshine, heat index, heat waves, extreme precipitation, summer breeze, relative humidity, gusts of wind, rain, drought, fog and cold days, which actually answers the question: What is the Italian city with the best climate?
Two Abruzzo cities among the top ten Italian cities for the best climate
Of the 107 (former) provincial capitals And Bari the best place to live from this point of view, objectively speaking. The Apulian city has undermined Imperia from the top of the standings, who instead had to settle for second place, ahead of Barletta-Andria-Trani. In top tenare also present two capitals of Abruzzowhich ones and for what reason?
In fifth place, just behind Cataniaamong the top ten Italian cities for climate quality there are two in Abruzzo: Pescarawhich qualified fifth in the Sole 24 Ore rankings, and Chietiseventh, after Brindisi, but before Agrigento and Cagliari.
None of the capitals of Abruzzo, among other things, should be considered among the worst places to live – Teramo is 35th, L’Aquila 48th -, because occupying the last ten positions are (in progressive order): Lecco, Ferrara, Asti, Lodi, Piacenza, Caserta, Cremona, Pavia, Alessandria and, bringing up the rear, Belluno.
With a score of 728 points, Pescara is considered among the best cities in Italy thanks above all to third place in the ‘heat waves’ categorywhich records exceedances per year >=30°C for three consecutive days.
The capital of Abruzzo, however, also performed well in terms of the heat index and rainfall (13th place). However, as regards Chieti, it is all together that makes its climate one of the most liveable in Italy. A great success, right? It’s also a great fortune to live there.
