From 1st July in Grammichele the appointment with the theater dedicated to children and families will be renewed thanks to “La Piazza dei Piccoli”. This event, organized by the “Amici del Garbo” Cultural Association with the Artistic Direction of the “Nave Argo” Cultural Association, has now become an event awaited by both small and large spectators, confirming itself as an ideal opportunity to bring the community together . The event will take place in the courtyard of the Gesù Adolescent Parish, located in Via Alessandro Volta n. 47.
The event includes three shows which will be presented on a weekly basis in the month of July. On Monday 1 July, the Compagnia di San Lorenzo will open the show with the show “Il sarto crafty” by Michelangelo Maria Zanghì, with texts by Antonino Anelli. On stage there will be Ivan Bertolami, Alessio Pettinato, Emanuela Ungaro and Michelangelo Maria Zanghì. The story follows the adventures of a tailor who, with cunning and ingenuity, proves that strength is not the only way to achieve one’s goals. On Monday 8 July the OTqA / Casa Teatro Company will present “The Giant and the Little Girl”, with Irene Maiullari and Giorgia Tusa, directed by Enrica Volponi.
This show delicately deals with the moment of growth in which children face the transition to adulthood, often without feeling ready. On Tuesday 16 July the show will end with the Compagnia Nave Argo presenting the show “Un Principe Ranocchio”, performed by Giovanni Maugeri and Iridiana Petrone, who is also the author of the texts and direction. The plot revolves around a vain prince transformed into a frog by a magic spell and his adventures to discover the true values of life thanks to funny and friendly characters. The show is supported by the Caritas Diocesana of Caltagirone and the collaboration of Latitudini, the Sicilian network of contemporary dramaturgy established in 2011 by some of the most interesting theater organizations active in Sicily.
