Bad weather Liguria, Torriglia-Pentema road closed due to landslide

Since yesterday evening, the municipal road connecting Torriglia and the fraction of Penthemein the hinterland of Genoa, is interrupted due to a landslide caused by the intense rains of the last few days. The unstable rock face is approx 60 meters and requires rock scaling, while the road surface does not appear to have suffered any damage, despite the weight of the fallen rocks. The road remains closed pending an inspection by rock climbers, which cannot be carried out at the moment because the ground is still waterlogged.

The clearing operations of the municipal road affected by the landslide and making it safe will begin as soon as possible – assures the regional councilor for Civil Protection, Giacomo Giampedrone – The Liguria Region and the regional Civil Protection operations room remain in constant contact with the mayor to monitor the situation and proceed with an assessment of the front as soon as possible, which must obviously take place in safety. At this moment, the priority is to maintain a connection through alternative roads towards Montoggio, via a partly unpaved road”.
