The Baroque Race returns on Sunday, a 24km race that connects the towns of Ragusa, Modica and Scicli, all three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This distinctive aspect makes the competition one of the most beloved in the Sicilian summer calendar, combining running and sports tourism among the baroque beauties and breathtaking landscapes of the area, offering athletes a unique experience.

The race, dedicated to the memory of Giorgio Buscema, is sponsored by the three municipalities involved and supported by the Sports Councilor Simone Digrandi. The collaboration with the UISP Territoriale Iblei, led by Tonino Siciliano, and the support of the ASD No al Doping Ragusa and the company Albani OP “Insieme secondo natura” as official partner, guarantee the success of the event.

Many top athletes have confirmed their participation in the Baroque Race, the FIDAL National race. Among them, Angelo Mandara, winner of the Vivicittà Ragusano and runner-up in the last edition of the race from Ragusa to Scicli, will face rivals such as Sebastiano Foti, Mario Piraino and Enrico Pafumi. Among the women, Nadia Cozza, runner-up last year, will compete with Simona Sorvillo, winner of this year’s Maratonina di Terrasini.

The race will start from the extraordinary setting of Ragusa Ibla, in Piazza Pola, at 7:00. In Modica, instead, the Baroque Sprint will start, a 10.2 km race, both competitive and non-competitive, with the start in front of the Teatro Garibaldi in Corso Umberto.
