From 22 June to 20 July thirty-fifth edition of the Tignano Festival for the environment and the meeting between peoples in Barberino Tavarnelle. And on Friday 5 July Gloria Germani, author of “Tiziano Terzani against the war” for an evening tribute to the great journalist and writer.

The event focused on the themes of the environment and peace returns to the stage of the Castello dei Tignano, through a subtle common thread that links moments of reflection to those of entertainment and which contemplates holistic philosophy and spirituality.

Appointments

Saturday 22 June at 9.30pm opera concert by the artists of the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino: will open the Festival with a selection from works by Handel, Mozart and Rossini. Free admission.

On Wednesday 26 June the Incontro tra i Popoli prize will be awarded to the Wambli Gleska association who spreads the culture and defends the human rights of the Lakota Sioux nation. An opportunity to talk about one of the largest genocides in history and the spiritual and animistic relationship of Native Americans with Mother Earth in the company of Alessandro Martire, Sergio Susani, Cosetta Scipioni and Fabrizio Faffini. Free admission.

On Sunday 30 June at 9.30pm the Environment Award will be awarded to Carlo Petrini, gastronome, sociologist, writer, activist and historic founder of Slow Food. Free entry to the meeting and awards ceremony. Special Slow Food buffet dinner at the Capannina di Tignano.

Friday 5 July at 9.30pm, an evening tribute to the figure of Tiziano Terzani twenty years after his death in the company of Angela Stade Terzani, Gloria Germani and Jacopo Storni. Free admission

Thursday 11 July will be James Senese’s turn in concert with his tour We are looking for the world. Tickets with numbered seats online at: oooh.events

Rai journalists from Presa Diretta on Sunday 14 July at 9pm Teresa Paoli, Daniela Cipolloni and Paola Vecchia will present the docufilm “Plastica Connection” and the book “Plastic Mal” to tell truths and lies about the material that has flooded the world and entered our blood. Free admission

On Wednesday 17 July at 9.30 pm there will be a meeting with Professor Franco Cardini entitled “Who fuels war? Who hinders peace?”. Free admission

The Festival will close on Saturday 20 July at 9.30pm with a narrated concert in homage to Franco Battiato, performed by Guarnieri Ensemble, which enchanted the theaters of Sicily, in its absolute premiere in Tuscany. Tickets online at www.tignano.it until sold out
