An appointment to reflect on prison together with Caritas and Teatro Metropopolare. On Wednesday 3 July at 9pm, «It’s just a game», directed by Livia Gionfrida with Robert da Ponte, will be staged in the cloister of San Domenico di Prato. The show is free to enter and is part of the “It’s worth it” project of the diocesan Caritas of Prato, promoted to encourage the social reintegration of prisoners and raise awareness among citizens of the issues of the prison world.
The Metropopolare Theater has been operating within the La Dogaia prison in Prato for over fifteen years, where it has conducted a permanent artistic residency with professional artists and prisoners: a training, production and hospitality project aimed at the inmate population and the external public. Since 2019, Livia Gionfrida has been carrying out an investigation into capitalism and the role that money has in our society and in our lives with her collective Metropopolare.
In the show «It’s just a game» a historical actor of the collective, ex-convict and ex-banker, tries to take stock of the situation, mixing economic theories and Murphy’s law, with the help of Shakespeare, The Blues Brothers and former President Trump. A tragicomic reflection on the global world.
