Wellbeing in action: synergies for health and social policies. Yesterday the meeting of the competent councilor with the trade union organizations and representatives of the Orders.
Yesterday afternoon the councilor for health, social policies and cooperation presented the programmatic lines of the legislature in the field of health and social policies to the representatives of the trade unions and health professions. The meeting took place in the Aula magna of the Department of Education and Culture, in via Gilli in Trento.
As the councilor explained, the focus of the meeting was on the strategy for the next five years and the setting up of work that can go even further from a temporal point of view, to intervene to contrast trends such as the decline in births and the progressive aging of the population. For Trentino to be able to deal with these issues, new needs and to make a difference, an assumption of shared responsibility is necessary.
The councilor addressed many crucial issues: the need for greater prevention, which also involves the involvement of young people, the activation of policies attentive to birth rates and families, the reduction of waiting lists and queues in the emergency room, focusing above all on the role of general practitioners, but also on the cultural aspect, on a different perspective and on a different way of working together. In fact, it is only through the synergy between all the actors involved that a change of pace is possible, trying to provide as many answers as possible to the difficulties that citizens encounter. The councilor also wanted to focus attention on the valorisation of medical, nursing and social care staff, who must be put in a position to be able to work better, through suitable tools and with a view to the creation of functional territorial aggregators with the presence of different professionalism within them.
The councilor underlined that it is important to focus on people, because those who make the difference in the health sector are precisely the people with their professionalism. With the organization of local and more territorial assistance as was recently started by the Province and Apss, it will be possible to give the right answers to citizens, but also through training and research, which in Trentino have many centers of excellence, supported by the new School of Medicine now in its fourth year. Another important topic is the construction of the new hospital complex. The conditions have been created to launch the new structure, whose role will be even more strategic, together with all the other hospitals in Trentino, which will need to be enhanced more. The unions appreciated the presentation and the prospect of sharing problems and possible synergies and presented the most relevant issues, especially in the personnel area. However, a discussion has begun which will lead to the collection of further observations and points of view to proceed with shared proposals.
Present at the meeting for the PAT Health and Social Policies Department were the manager of the Health Professions, Training and Relations with Universities Service Franca Bellotti, the manager of the Health Policies and Non Self-sufficiency Service Monica Zambotti, the manager of the Social Policies Service Federica Sartori and the director of the simple mission unit Umse disability and socio-health integration Roberto Pallanch. Also present was the general manager of the Umst planning, Europe and Pnrr strategic mission units Nicoletta Clauser. For Apss, the head of the Economic-Financial, General and Administrative Affairs Department Sara Girardi, member of the Board of Directors of the healthcare company, participated.
