First installation session yesterday, June 27, for the new city council of Lastra a Signa following the administrative elections of June 8 and 9. Among the items on the agenda of the session are the validation of the elected officials, the mayor’s oath, the communication on the nominations to the city council and the election of the president of the city council and the two vice presidents.

With 11 votes in favor and 4 abstentions, Pietro Milanesi was elected president of the city council. Milanesi had presented himself in the last administrative elections with the Socialists and Independents Lastra a Signa list in support of the candidacy of Emanuele Caporaso. With 9 votes in favor, 1 abstention and 5 against, Andrea Rossi of the Democratic Party was elected deputy vice president of the city council, the other alternate vice president is Paola Piccini, also of the Democratic Party. Mayor Caporaso swore to loyally observe the Constitution, announced the appointments of the council and, in his speech, asked that the political debate in the coming years, between the benches of the council, always be guided by respect for the people and the institutional place, hoping for the collaboration of all, each in their role.
