Memorie will be staged at the Abeliano Theater in Bari on 6 and 7 April of a madmanthe theatrical show based on the story of the same name by Tales of Petersburg by Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol. The director and performer Andrea Buscemi. The story, written in the first person in the form of a diary, has always been a great test for theater actors. It is worth remembering Vit
torio Gassman, Giorgio Albertazzi, Gigi Proietti and Flavio Bucci. Made doubly intriguing by the stage adaptation of Roberto Lericiis among the main architects in promoting and enhancing the art of monologue in Italy: among his greatest successes the legendary Your eyes please written for Gigi Proietti, the monologue narrates the events of a humble councilor in early 19th century Russia, Aksentij Ivanovic Popriscin, madly in love with his director’s daughter and continually harassed by his superiors. The oppression he suffers and his petty bourgeois status will slowly lead him into a spiral of grotesque and surreal madness. A reminder of how social injustice and human misery over the centuries have upset the lives of many. A work with a moral that is still relevant today: the modern consumer society frantically invites anyone to excel by even going beyond themselves, until they reach a human discomfort destined to cyclically recur. Produced by Tiberio Fiorilli Companythe music is by the famous Niccolo Buscemi, on TV and at the cinema (with Paolo Virzì and Neri Parenti), active above all in the theater as an actor and director. Since 2005 he has directed actors including Paolo Villaggio, Tosca D’Aquino, Corinne Cléry, Roberto Herlitzka, Flavio Bucci, Fanny Cadeo and Eva Robin’s, staging shows by (among others): Dino Buzzati, Carlo Goldoni, William Shakespeare , Dante Alighieri, Cesare Zavattini, Molière. An event not to be missed.
