On display are photos of the Maggiani and Valla floods

The words and photos of Maurizio Maggiani and Nicoletta Valla, a journey through the most intense and difficult days of the flood. On Saturday 4 May at the Bottega Bertaccini, in Corso Garibaldi 4, an exhibition will be inaugurated at 5.30pm with a selection of the photos taken by Maggiani and Valla in May last year, published in the volume “What we lost / what we saved”, released on newsstands with Resto del Carlino one month before the event. The photos will be visible until Saturday 8 June during the usual opening hours: from 9am to 12.30pm and from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday morning.

Maurizio Maggiani, 73 years old, is a writer and journalist by profession. He currently lives in Faenza. Nicoletta Valla, on the other hand, is 25 years old, studies psychology and supports her studies by working. She began taking photographs with an old Chinese Seagull camera, passed down to her by her father.

Their book, “What we lost / what we saved”, collects photographs and writings that take us back to the most excited moments of the emergency to experience the same emotions as those who were there and those who lost a lot, if not everything , but in those days he also rediscovered the solidarity and passion of those who don’t give up and roll up their sleeves to build a better future.

All proceeds from the sale of the book were allocated to the regional fund established for territorial security and civil protection in Emilia Romagna.
