Previously presented as Avengers: The Kang Dynastythe film is in a thorny situation to say the least, after being overwhelmed by the affair Jonathan Majors. In fact, with the conviction of the latter for aggression and violence, the character of appears to have definitively left the scene Kang the Conqueror, the one who should have been the main villain of the next cycle of stories. It is therefore unknown how the Studios intend to proceed the next ensemble film with Marvel heroes; what is certain is that a total rethinking of the plot and important changes in direction regarding the direction are underway.
The release date is set for May 1, 2026, but with all these delays will it be respected? Maybe there is some hope. Interviewed by Netflix, Benedict Cumberbatch may have revealed a small spoilers on the start date of filming Of Avengers 5. As he reminisced about his time on the set of Doctor Strangein fact, the English actor let slip that the character will return in the near future of the MCU: «I have had a great relationship with Marvel since I took on this role. I can’t wait for Avengers next year: they are preparing great things”.
His statement immediately made the rounds on the web, as it seemed to confirm both that Avengers 5 will go into production next year (despite all the difficulties encountered in recent times), whether we could see him again in the cast. This would be in line with a statement from Deadline, according to which the new chapter could involve “more than 60 historical characters from the MCU”, although others reports contrasting states instead that the story will focus on a smaller group of Avengers.
