“The South is the central place of the Mediterranean and has extraordinary potential. I remember that for the G7 we chose the South, in Borgo Egnazia in Puglia and in Ortigia in Sicily for the next G7 of agriculture which will take place from 21 to 29 September. It will be a great Italian agri-food expo. In the southern regions, culture and innovation come together and we will be able to really show the world what Italy has been capable of and above all what it is capable of and how much our development model is worth.” This was said by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, interviewed by Il Mattino.

“I would like to highlight in particular the great potential of Campania – added the minister – where extraordinary companies operate that have shown that they do not want to surrender to those who wanted to condemn them to welfare and citizen’s income for life. We will be at their side. We have demonstrated it in Caivano. In Campania, in particular, many young people work in agriculture who want to invest, who favor sustainability and organic”.

Lollobrigida then added: “Agriculture and the South are crucial for the Africa Plan. The primary sector is a key and essential element for the development of African countries, for their food security but also to ensure that those people choose to emigrate not because of hunger”.
