Shocking Details Emerge from Investigation into Death of Antonella Salamone and Children

The Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office has filed the documents of a shocking case that has shaken the community of Altavilla Militiawhere Antonella Salamone and her two sons, Kevin Barreca, 16, and Emanuel Barreca, 5, were found dead between February 10 and 11.

After three months of intense investigations, the events that led to their tragic end have been reconstructed.

The investigation revealed that acts of violence and beatings played a central role in the death of Antonella and her children in their villa. According to the testimonies collected and the results of the autopsies, Sabrina Fina and Massimo Carandente, who have always proclaimed their innocence, were accused of having directed an exorcism during which the violence occurred.

Details emerging from depositions and files extracted from the family’s electronic devices paint a disturbing picture. Antonella’s minor daughter described how biblical verses had been written on the walls before the tragic events, suggested as a sort of protection. She also recounted how Fina and Carandente had become increasingly authoritarian, leading to serious physical and psychological abuse.

Antonella’s death was particularly brutal, with the woman prevented from eating or drinking, and subjected to continuous beatings until she was no longer able to react.

Her agony ended when her body was burned along with other household items. During this horror, her daughter confessed that she felt paralyzed by terror and that she thought of suicide as a way of escape.

Little Emanuel was the second to die, tied to a bed with chains and forced to ingest coffee through a syringe prepared by Sabrina. Finally, the eldest brother, Kevin, died in equally horrific circumstances, with his hair cut by Sabrina who claimed that it made him “more rebellious”.

This deeply painful case continues to be thoroughly investigated as the community tries to come to terms with the incredible brutality of the events that led to the death of a mother and her two young children.

The Prosecutor’s Office continues to work to shed full light on the events, while grief and shock reign in the heart of Altavilla Milicia.
